Happy Monday. Where I'm living right now, you can really feel that spring is right around the corner. For Rick, he's watching the ice of the lakes and is eager for the first bit of open water so he can hit the lakes and start fishing again. But today, I wanted to share what I hinted at in my subject line. For me, learning how to build websites using WordPress changed everything for me and I mean that literally. When I learned how to use WordPress, I was no longer tied to waiting on someone else to create my vision. I could dive in and do what I wanted on my website. Creating my first website gave me a peek into the freedom I desired, though I didn't really know it at the time. When I look back to 2006, when I first started to learn how to create websites and discovered WordPress, I didn't know that it would lead me to where I am today. Once I mixed in the fun of email marketing and adding a shopping cart to my website I was set to create the lifestyle business I desired, and I discovered a skill that I could offer my clients, which eventually led to what I do now, focusing on website maintenance and security. Now, you don't need to go the route I did with WordPress, but know how to really leverage and use WordPress is a skill set any business owner can benefit from. When you have the skills to go in edit and make changes to your website, the world expands. I still recommend that you have an expert manage the security because that's a whole different thing, but creating your sales pages, updating your home page, adding in new opt ins or offers means you can do things on your time on your terms. I’ve been enjoying 3 glorious days on my own in our little apartment. Rick has been at the BC Outdoors show this weekend and staying at his friend's place during that time. I had a wonderful breakfast with an old friend (who is local as well, YAY!) and we realized we need to do more things together without the “boys”.
